Artisan Baker Consultancy

Sourdough from ABA member John DownesConsultancy is available on a number of levels:

In-House Training
Some of our members offer training within their bakery. This style of training is negotiated on a case-by-case basis.

Workplace Training
ABA can arrange for an accomplished artisan baker to visit your existing bakery and train you or your staff. Recipes are customised to suit your needs.

New Bakery Set-Up
Help is available for both conceptual development and on-the-ground implementation. One of our past briefs was to set up a credible artisan bakery within a high end shopping arcade.

Bakery fitout?
We have direct or importer access to high quality European baking equipment.

Staffing
Artisan Baker Association have their own human resources agency, BakerTrade. The BakerTrade web site is currently being upgraded and will re-launch in July 2009.

Examples

In-House Training
We were asked to provide 3 weeks of full-time experience for an overseas baker/business person.

ABA organised in-house training at one of Australia's most prestigious sourdough bakeries. The baker provided all training and intellectual property required to 'hit the ground running' for a new artisan bakery.

Workplace Training
A very successful bakery asked us to help them introduce artisan bread to their range. Our consultant worked with management and staff to provide recipes and skills to make sourdough, ciabatta and a variety of French and longer ferment breads.

Staffing
An Australian bakery contracted us to provide a key 'Head Baker' to get their new bakery concept up and running. We secured them a proficient artisan baker who has proven highly capable and has successfuly managed the bakery for more than 2 years.

Requirements
Consultancies are completely confidential. We only accept projects that are of clear benefit to the artisan baking community.
